1. What is KASNEB?
KASNEB is an international examinations body which develops and administers examinations and awards certificates in examinations at professional and technician levels in accountancy, finance, administration, management, information communication technology and related disciplines.
2. What are the qualifications for one to become a student of KASNEB?

3. What are the fees charged by KASNEB?
The fees and related charges are available on the website under the examination services.
4. What are the dates for the examinations and the annual registration renewals?
Examinations are held twice yearly in May/June and in November/December (bulletin board for actual dates).
Annual
registration renewals are due on 1st July of every year.
5. How can I get exempted in a particular paper?
Exemptions are granted on paper by paper basis upon application with supporting
documents and payment of requisite exemption fees (examination services).
6. How long does it take to get a certificate after successful completion of the examinations?
Between six months and one year. Successful candidates are notified in writing when the certificates are ready for collection.
7. Can one send somebody else to collect a certificate for him/her?
In view of the sensitivity of certificates, candidates are required to collect their certificates in person. However, a certificate may be posted to a candidate on request through registered mail using the address provided by the candidate upon fulfilling the conditions specified in the letter advising candidates that certificates are ready for collection.
8. Does KASNEB give copies of certificates?
KASNEB does not issue copies of certificates but provides a confirmation letter of the candidates pass history on request.
9. Under what conditions are refunds for withdrawals from examination sitting granted?
10. What is the time range when one wants to change an examination centre?
Requests for change of examination centres should be submitted at least two months before the examination dates. However, special consideration may be given to late requests on a case by case basis.
11. What documents should candidates produce in the examination room?
12. Which institutions offer training in KASNEB examinations?
KASNEB is in the process of accrediting training institutions and will publish a list of accredited institutions from time to time.
13. How can one obtain a reading list of the recommended text books?
The reading list of the recommended text books is available on the homepage of the KASNEB website www.kasneb.or.ke and the Kenya National Library Service branches countrywide.
14. Can one pay fees through the KASNEB bank account?
Yes, payment can be made at any branch of the National Bank of Kenya Limited (NBK) to KASNEB fee collection account number 0100131572601 using the customised KASNEB fee deposit slips available at any of the NBK branches countrywide. Upon payment of the requisite fee to the bank, the pink copy of the KASNEB fee deposit slip together with the completed registration/examination entry/ exemption/ annual registration renewal/student ID forms should be left with the bank for onward transmission to KASNEB.
15. Is it possible for KASNEB to post the forms for registration, student identity card, registration renewal, examination entry and exemption to a student or a prospective student?
Yes on request. The forms are also available on the homepage of KASNEB website www.kasneb.or.ke. The forms are also available at any Kenya National Library Service branches countrywide and from all institutions that offer training in KASNEB examinations.
16. Is it possible to confirm examination results via sms?
Yes, candidates can access their results through SMS.
17. Is it possible to confirm results via email and KASNEB website?
It is not yet possible to access results via email. However, results may be accessed on the homepage of KASNEB website www.kasneb.or.ke.
KASNEB is currently working on mechanisms to enable candidates access results via email.
18. Can a student sit for KASNEB examinations outside Kenya?
Yes, a student can sit for KASNEB examinations anywhere outside Kenya.
19. Does KASNEB provide model answers for examination questions to students?
20. How long does a student identification card take to be processed?
One to two months from the date of registration.
21. What are KASNEB operating hours?
Weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
22. What is credit retention?
The credit retention system is an examination regulation which allows a candidate who attempts papers in a level or section and passes some of the paper(s) in the level or section to retain as credit(s) the paper(s) passed. A candidate is therefore required to sit for the failed paper(s) only. However, a candidate must pass the failed paper(s) in a level or section within the next two and a half years or five consecutive sittings. Otherwise, the credits will be withdrawn and the candidate required to resit all the papers in the level or section.
23. Where is KASNEB located and does it have branches
KASNEB is located at KASNEB TOWERS, Hospital Road, Upper Hill, Nairobi. Currently, KASNEB does not have branches. However, students may obtain the relevant forms and other information from the KASNEB website or KASNEB help desk at any branch of the Kenya National Library Service countrywide or from training institutions.
