Dr Percy Opio was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of kasneb effective from 13 December 2024. He is a nominee of the Board of kasneb in accordance with Section 15(1)(h) of the Accountants Act, Cap. 531.
He is a holder of Doctor of Strategic Leadership (Strategic Foresights concentrate) degree from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA, USA, Master of Arts in Leadership degree from PAC University, Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree from Moi University and Management Information Systems Diploma from the Institute of Management Information Systems (UK).
He is a practitioner-academic with experience in Leadership Development, Strategic Foresight, Innovation and Change and ICT. He serves as Chief Executive – Strategy and Innovation at The Leadership Group and is co-founder of two digital tech companies in Education and Healthcare respectively. He previously held the position of General Manager-ICT at Equity Bank Kenya where he played a key role in rolling out digitization and automation projects. His role also involved overseeing operational efficiency projects, leading the ICT Service Delivery team and chairing the Change Authorization Board. Percy is proud to have successfully implemented the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework – a best practices IT Service Management Framework – at Equity Bank. As an academic, Percy is an adjunct lecturer at PAC University, International University Kenya and is a Programme Leader at Beaulah Heights University, USA. He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and author of The Future of Banking in Kenya.
His consultancy engagements have covered ICT Audits, Leadership Development Programmes, Process Re-engineering, Design Thinking, Strategy Review and Formulation, ICT Advisory Services, Board Evaluations and Governance Audits. His experience cuts across several sectors that include Banking, Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), Education, Manufacturing, Religious Sector and NGOs.
Dr. Joseph M. Kanyi PhD

Dr. Maina Kanyi has 16+ years' experience of initiating and delivering sustained results and effective change in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development in Kenya. Major experience lies in strategizing and leading cross-functional teams to bring about fundamental change and improvement in strategy, processes and profitability – both as a leader and expert consultant in the MSME world.
Experienced Entrepreneurship and TVET expert also having held Senior Managerial positions in Government of Kenya in the Ministries of Labour, Trade, Industrialization & Enterprise Development. He has a solid and first-hand experience in Management of Donor Funded Development Projects, with a background in strategy and 7+ years' experience in Developing and implementing mechanisms for sustainable development of TVETs, Project formulation, implementation and Evaluation.
Experienced strategist, entrepreneurship and start-up enthusiast with a passion for building businesses and challenging the status quo. 8+ year track-record of defining new business strategies, launching new ventures and delivering operational impact, both as a project team lead and executor.
A High school teacher by initiation in early stages of career growth, a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship Education, Building and Civil Engineering and Industrial Organization & Management in the TVET Sector.
Dr. Kanyi is an accomplished executive with experience in providing support to high-level boards. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of Technical Education at the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training, Ministry of Education.
Dr. Kanyi is a holder of MSc in Entrepreneurship from Kenyatta University and BSc in Entrepreneurship from Karatina University and a Diploma in Technical Education from Kenya Technical Trainers College.
FCPA Prof. Nicholas K. Letting' PhD, EBS, HSC
Secretary/Chief Executive Officer
He is the current Chairman of the Association of Professional Societies of East Africa (APSEA). He serves on a voluntary basis as Honorary National Treasurer of the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS). Prof. Letting' has held key top leadership roles at the Management University of Africa (MUA), the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and the British-American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya. He previously served as Vice-Chancellor at MUA, where he led transformative initiatives.
A decorated scholar and transformative turnaround leader, Prof. Letting' is a Fellow of ICPAK, ICIFA, ICPSK and KIM and an Adjunct Associate Professor at KCA University and Strathmore University, mentoring PhD and MBA students. His contributions to accountancy development, investments management, corporate governance, public procurement and projects management and capacity building have earned him national honours such as The Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) and the Head of State Commendation (HSC).
CPA Francis M. Kariuki
Representing the National Treasury
CPA Francis M. Kariuki is currently the Director National Sub County Treasuries at the National Treasury. He is a career civil servant who has been in the civil service for the last (36) thirty-six years uninterrupted. He has served in various capacities both at the field stations and also at the top management at the National Treasury Headquarters. He is currently in charge of 315 field stations spread across the country with a workforce of over 1200 officers.
CPA Francis is a holder of Masters of Science in Commerce (Finance and Accounting) and Bachelors of Commerce both from KCA University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Member of ICPAK. He is also a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst and a member of ICIFA.
CPA Philip Kakai
Representing Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
FCPA Philip Kakai was appointed as a member of the Board of kasneb effective 13 December 2024. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) in good standing and a Certified Professional Mediator. He has over 20 years of extensive experience in Leadership, Financial Accounting and Management, Budget Management, Audit and Project management gained from both the public and private sector.
He is currently an Assistant Director of Finance at the Judiciary in charge of Revenue and Deposits and serves in various Policy and administrative committees of the Judiciary. He previously served as an Ag. Director of Finance and an Ag. Deputy Director Accounts at the same Institution. Before joining the Judiciary in 2013, he served as the Finance Manager of Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Limited for over 8 years having risen from a Senior Accountant. He started his career as an Accountant at Parklands Sports Club and has served in the Accounting profession since then.

Prof. Elizabeth M. Kalunda was appointed as a member of the Board effective from 1 November 2021. She is a nominee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya in accordance with Section 15(1)(f) of the Accountants Act, Cap. 531.
She is a holder of Doctor of Philosophy, Business Administration, Banking Specialization, University of Nairobi, Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A) Accounting option, University of Nairobi, Bachelor of Education from Moi University and the Certified Public Accounting Profession.
Prof. Kalunda is a Professor at the United States International University- Africa (USIU-A), in the Chandaria School of Business in the area of Finance and Accounting. She previously served at the Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya in various positions as, Training Manager, Head of Technical Training and Project Co-coordinator-World Bank-IDF. She has also served as the Associate Director at JMG Strategy Innovations Ltd in charge of Business Research. She has also worked at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Government Training Institute and Teachers Service Commission.
Prof. Kalunda is a seasoned consultant, facilitator and researcher and has been involved in research in the area of Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Women Economic Development and Banking Outreach. She has trained various groups in design thinking, business development, business plans and innovations.
Prof. Kalunda is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Audit Committee Member of Nairobi County Government and Board of Directors of Kasarani Technical and Vocational College and a Board member in a number of Secondary Schools in Kenya.
Ms. Lilian Abishai
Representing The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice
Ms. Lilian Abishai is a member of the Board of kasneb and currently serves as a Deputy Chief State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice for fourteen (years). Prior to joining Government, she had worked in various capacities in several Civil Society Organisations. She joined the kasneb Board on 2 November 2023.
She has expertise in a number of areas of law such as Contract Law, Private Public Partnerships, Public Procurement, International Procurement, Energy Law, Public Finance, Public Policy, Competition Law, Arbitrations, both national and International, among others. She also has a robust skill set that includes legal advice, legal writing, contract drafting, legal research, negotiating contracts and financing, legal due diligence, legal audits among others.
She is proficient in serving in public service having undertaken the Senior Management Course (SMC) and Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) at the Kenya School of Government. Further, she has served in various capacities in senior positions in Government for over ten (10) years.
She holds a Postgraduate diploma in Law (Advocates Training Program), Kenya School of Law, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and LLM in International Trade and Commercial Law from the University of Essex, UK.
FCS Joshua W. Wambua MBS
Representing the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ICS)
FCS Joshua W. Wambua was appointed a member of the Board of kasneb effective 13 December 2024. He is a Certified Secretary and a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya. He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree with a major in Finance from the University of Nairobi and a degree in Business Administration in Finance.
He has served as a County Executive committee member in Makueni and also as County Secretary. He has also served and continues to serve in a number of Board of Management of several schools.
In 2012, he was awarded the Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS) by the President of Kenya for his outstanding contribution to Nation building.
He has worked with Kenya Posts & Telecommunication, lectured at Multimedia University and is an examiner at kasneb. He was party to the conceptualization of the framework that led to the formation of the International Federation of Company Secretaries (IFCS) in Delhi-India and served as a member of IFCS for five years.
He served as the Secretary and the Chief Executive of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya for a period of thirteen years and also served as a Board member of the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board. He also served as the Honorary Secretary of the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA).
CS Judy W. Omurwa

CS Judy Olive Warui was appointed as a member of the Board of kasneb effective 13 December 2024. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries, an experienced Corporate Secretary, accredited governance auditor and Corporate Governance consultant. She has worked as an in-house corporate secretary where she advised the Board and Management on governance matters, risk and compliance, and adopted best Corporate Governance practices and procedures.
Currently, she is an independent legal and corporate governance consultant, trainer/facilitator, corporate secretary and Board Member. She has led and participated in governance and legal audits for various state corporations and publicly listed companies and provides various corporate secretarial, legal, regulatory, and compliance services.
CS Judy has been involved in drafting Corporate Governance guidelines and Codes of Conduct, subsidiary legislation, board and board committee charters, policies, and guidelines for entities in diverse sectors. She has also facilitated several seminars and workshops in the areas of Corporate Governance, minute writing, meetings, board processes, and procedures.
She is a Member of the Board of Safaricom Investment Cooperative Limited (SIC) and chairs the Historic and Problematic Lands Board Committee.
CS Judy is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. She holds a Law degree from the University of Nairobi, a postgraduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from United States International University – Africa.
Ms. Samantha S. Kipury

Ms. Samantha S. Kipury was appointed as a member of the Board of kasneb effective from 13 December 2024. She is the Founder and Group Head of Strategy & Media at Dentsu Kenya where she dedicated over 14 years to overseeing the strategic development and implementation of the business. Her leadership has propelled the company to achieve significant growth, expanding agency services and establishing Dentsu Kenya as a regional hub for multiple clients.
With a track record of guiding businesses through pivotal transformations and ensuring seamless client interactions, she has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Kenya by Africapitol Ventures in 2024, Future is Female Award by Adweek US (2023) In Johannesburg, South Africa among others.
Passionate about education, she has mentored and financially supported young women from the Maa community, advocating for their educational success. She is a graduate from Monash University and holds a Master's Degree in Strategic Management from Catholic University, and a Corporate Governance Course with Women on Boards.

He serves as the Secretary/CEO of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board – KASNEB and has held key leadership roles in the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya, including being Vice-Chancellor of the Management University of Africa (MUA).
He is the current Chairman, Association of Professional Societies of East Africa (APSEA). FCPA Dr Isaac M. Njuguna PhD

FCPA Dr Isaac M. Njuguna is the Director, Corporate Services at kasneb, a position he has held since 2022. FCPA Dr Njuguna also serves on the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB) of IFAC as a Board member representing Kenya and the East Africa region. In addition, he serves on the Technical committee of the East Africa Community Institutes of Accountants (EACIA). Previously, he served as a member of the Registration and Quality Assurance Committee and the Training and Development Committee of ICPAK for which he was awarded a commendation. FCPA Njuguna is also a member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
FCPA Njuguna has wide exposure on global practices in professional accounting education and practice gained through his service at the IAESB in addition to benchmarking and peer review visits to institutes within the East Africa region, South Africa, United Kingdom, USA, Australia, Indonesia, Mexico among others.
FCPA Njuguna holds a Masters degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi in addition to a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) degree from the same university. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.
CPA Jason K. Mwangi
Deputy Director, Internal Audit and Assurance
CPA Jason has over fifteen years of experience in audit and assurance, gained from both the private and public sectors. He is currently the Head of Internal Audit and Assurance Division at kasneb and previously held a similar role at the Women Enterprise Fund. He also served as the Country Head of Audit and Control at United Bank for Africa, where he played a key role in establishing the bank in Kenya.
He holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Management from IOTA-Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting option) from Kenyatta University. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Information Systems Auditor, and a Certified Professional in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). He is also an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA), where he has served as a member of the Audit Committee.

Caroline has over 15 years' strategic management experience having served in different senior strategic management, corporate planning, governance and consulting positions in Swaziland, Australia and Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Moi University and Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.
Caroline is a Chartered Secretary/governance professional and member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA). She holds a post-graduate diploma in marketing and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), a diploma in quality management and is a practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI). She also holds a Post-graduate diploma in Project Planning and Management from Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

Hamida A. Mwilu
Deputy Director, Business Development
Hamida A. Mwilu is the Head of the Business Development Division at kasneb, where she provides strategic leadership across Business Development, Customer Experience, Brand Management, Marketing, Corporate Communication and Research and Innovation. She is widely recognised as a transformational and "out-of-the-box" leader, distinguished by her strong customer centric approach and her ability to design and execute high-impact marketing and communication strategies.
A Chartered Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications professional, Hamida blends strategic insight with commercial acumen to identify, develop, and grow new market opportunities. Her leadership is anchored in vision, innovation, and results, supported by deep expertise in strategic planning, project management, and business development. Her core competencies include Marketing Management, Corporate Communication, Stakeholder Engagement, Brand Management, Strategic Management, Project Management, Change Management, Customer Relationship Management, and People Leadership.
Hamida joined kasneb in August 2013 and has played a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation's brand, market presence, and stakeholder relationships. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Management from Edith Cowan University, a Professional Diploma in Marketing (High Level) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Kenyatta University. CPA Sailot Keke
Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts
CPA Sailot Keke has over 15 years of experience in Finance and Auditing across both the public and private sectors.
She currently serves as the Deputy Director, Finance, having previously worked as Manager, Internal Audit at kasneb for more than seven years. Prior to joining kasneb, she served as an Information Systems Auditor at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and earlier as a Regional Auditor with the NGCDF Board.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) and a Master of Business Administration (Finance). She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Secretary (CS).
CPA Keke is an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), where she has served as Audit Committee Chair. She is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK), where she contributes to the Training and Development Committee and has previously served on the Audit Committee.

Joseph Kariga serves as the Deputy Director, Examinations Administration at kasneb, overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all national and international examinations administered by the board.
CS Joyce M. Afanda
Assistant Director, Legal Services
CS Joyce M. Afanda is the Assistant Director, Legal Services at kasneb where she also doubles up as the Data Protection Officer. She is a Commissioner for Oaths, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Governance, Ethics, Risk and Compliance Expert. She is also a Certified Public Secretary and Certified Public Accountant.
CS Joyce holds a Masters of Laws (LLM) degree in International Trade Law (Distinction) from the University of Aberdeen and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management from Kenyatta University, in addition she also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and a post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
As a trained mediator and negotiator, CS Joyce firmly believes in alternative dispute resolution as opposed to the use of litigation. She is also passionate about Governance and Compliance.
The key responsibilities are management of Board and Committee meetings, Advising on all Legal and Compliance matters, contract negotiation and management, Data Protection and governance audit and related issues.

Jostine N. Masinde serves as the Assistant Director, Administration at kasneb, overseeing human resources, facilities management, administrative operations, and organizational support services.
Daniel N. Ngunyi
Assistant Director, Accreditation
Daniel N. Ngunyi is the Assistant Director, Accreditation at kasneb, responsible for managing the accreditation process for training institutions, ensuring quality standards in accounting and secretarial education, and maintaining partnerships with accredited learning centers.
CPA Jacinta Moraa
Manager, KASNEB Foundation
CPA Jacinta Moraa currently serves as the Manager of the KASNEB Foundation. She oversees the Foundation's day-to-day operations, which include implementing the loans and bursaries programme for needy students pursuing kasneb qualifications, mentorship and coaching for beneficiaries, resource mobilization, corporate social investment initiatives, strategic planning, and building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
Before joining the KASNEB Foundation, Jacinta served as the Finance and Accounts Officer at the National Council for Law Reporting (NCLR) for 10 years, and earlier as an Accountant and Credit Officer at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
She holds an MBA in Project Management and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Banking). She is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a member of both the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK).
Jacinta is also a trained ISO 9001:2015 Implementation Champion, a certified Trainer of Trainers, and a former Trustee of the NCLR Pension Scheme.

Dr Percy Opio was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of kasneb effective from 13 December 2024. He is a nominee of the Board of kasneb in accordance with Section 15(1)(h) of the Accountants Act, Cap. 531.
He is a holder of Doctor of Strategic Leadership (Strategic Foresights concentrate) degree from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA, USA, Master of Arts in Leadership degree from PAC University, Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree from Moi University and Management Information Systems Diploma from the Institute of Management Information Systems (UK).
He is a practitioner-academic with experience in Leadership Development, Strategic Foresight, Innovation and Change and ICT. He serves as Chief Executive – Strategy and Innovation at The Leadership Group and is co-founder of two digital tech companies in Education and Healthcare respectively. He previously held the position of General Manager-ICT at Equity Bank Kenya where he played a key role in rolling out digitization and automation projects. His role also involved overseeing operational efficiency projects, leading the ICT Service Delivery team and chairing the Change Authorization Board. Percy is proud to have successfully implemented the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework – a best practices IT Service Management Framework – at Equity Bank. As an academic, Percy is an adjunct lecturer at PAC University, International University Kenya and is a Programme Leader at Beaulah Heights University, USA. He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and author of The Future of Banking in Kenya.
His consultancy engagements have covered ICT Audits, Leadership Development Programmes, Process Re-engineering, Design Thinking, Strategy Review and Formulation, ICT Advisory Services, Board Evaluations and Governance Audits. His experience cuts across several sectors that include Banking, Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), Education, Manufacturing, Religious Sector and NGOs.
Dr. Joseph M. Kanyi PhD

Dr. Maina Kanyi has 16+ years’ experience of initiating and delivering sustained results and effective change in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development in Kenya. Major experience lies in strategizing and leading cross-functional teams to bring about fundamental change and improvement in strategy, processes and profitability – both as a leader and expert consultant in the MSME world.
Experienced Entrepreneurship and TVET expert also having held Senior Managerial positions in Government of Kenya in the Ministries of Labour, Trade, Industrialization & Enterprise Development. He has a solid and first-hand experience in Management of Donor Funded Development Projects, with a background in strategy and 7+ years’ experience in Developing and implementing mechanisms for sustainable development of TVETs, Project formulation, implementation and Evaluation.
Experienced strategist, entrepreneurship and start-up enthusiast with a passion for building businesses and challenging the status quo. 8+ year track-record of defining new business strategies, launching new ventures and delivering operational impact, both as a project team lead and executor.
A High school teacher by initiation in early stages of career growth, a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship Education, Building and Civil Engineering and Industrial Organization & Management in the TVET Sector.
Dr. Kanyi is an accomplished executive with experience in providing support to high-level boards. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of Technical Education at the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training, Ministry of Education.
Dr. Kanyi is a holder of MSc in Entrepreneurship from Kenyatta University and BSc in Entrepreneurship from Karatina University and a Diploma in Technical Education from Kenya Technical Trainers College.
FCPA Prof. Nicholas K. Letting’ PhD, EBS, HSC
Secretary/Chief Executive Officer
He is the current Chairman of the Association of Professional Societies of East Africa (APSEA). He serves on a voluntary basis as Honorary National Treasurer of the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS). Prof. Letting' has held key top leadership roles at the Management University of Africa (MUA), the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and the British-American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya. He previously served as Vice-Chancellor at MUA, where he led transformative initiatives.
A decorated scholar and transformative turnaround leader, Prof. Letting' is a Fellow of ICPAK, ICIFA, ICPSK and KIM and an Adjunct Associate Professor at KCA University and Strathmore University, mentoring PhD and MBA students. His contributions to accountancy development, investments management, corporate governance, public procurement and projects management and capacity building have earned him national honours such as The Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) and the Head of State Commendation (HSC).
CPA Francis M. Kariuki
Representing the National Treasury
CPA Francis M. Kariuki is currently the Director National Sub County Treasuries at the National Treasury. He is a career civil servant who has been in the civil service for the last (36) thirty-six years uninterrupted. He has served in various capacities both at the field stations and also at the top management at the National Treasury Headquarters. He is currently in charge of 315 field stations spread across the country with a workforce of over 1200 officers.
CPA Francis is a holder of Masters of Science in Commerce (Finance and Accounting) and Bachelors of Commerce both from KCA University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Member of ICPAK. He is also a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst and a member of ICIFA.
CPA Philip Kakai
Representing Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
FCPA Philip Kakai was appointed as a member of the Board of kasneb effective 13 December 2024. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) in good standing and a Certified Professional Mediator. He has over 20 years of extensive experience in Leadership, Financial Accounting and Management, Budget Management, Audit and Project management gained from both the public and private sector.
He is currently an Assistant Director of Finance at the Judiciary in charge of Revenue and Deposits and serves in various Policy and administrative committees of the Judiciary. He previously served as an Ag. Director of Finance and an Ag. Deputy Director Accounts at the same Institution. Before joining the Judiciary in 2013, he served as the Finance Manager of Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Limited for over 8 years having risen from a Senior Accountant. He started his career as an Accountant at Parklands Sports Club and has served in the Accounting profession since then.
CPA Prof. Elizabeth N. Muvui-Kalunda

Prof. Elizabeth M. Kalunda was appointed as a member of the Board effective from 1 November 2021. She is a nominee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya in accordance with Section 15(1)(f) of the Accountants Act, Cap. 531.
She is a holder of Doctor of Philosophy, Business Administration, Banking Specialization, University of Nairobi, Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A) Accounting option, University of Nairobi, Bachelor of Education from Moi University and the Certified Public Accounting Profession.
Prof. Kalunda is a Professor at the United States International University- Africa (USIU-A), in the Chandaria School of Business in the area of Finance and Accounting. She previously served at the Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya in various positions as, Training Manager, Head of Technical Training and Project Co-coordinator-World Bank-IDF. She has also served as the Associate Director at JMG Strategy Innovations Ltd in charge of Business Research. She has also worked at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Government Training Institute and Teachers Service Commission.
Prof. Kalunda is a seasoned consultant, facilitator and researcher and has been involved in research in the area of Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Women Economic Development and Banking Outreach. She has trained various groups in design thinking, business development, business plans and innovations.
Prof. Kalunda is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Audit Committee Member of Nairobi County Government and Board of Directors of Kasarani Technical and Vocational College and a Board member in a number of Secondary Schools in Kenya.
Ms. Lilian Abishai
Representing The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice
Ms. Lilian Abishai is a member of the Board of kasneb and currently serves as a Deputy Chief State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice for fourteen (years). Prior to joining Government, she had worked in various capacities in several Civil Society Organisations. She joined the kasneb Board on 2 November 2023.
She has expertise in a number of areas of law such as Contract Law, Private Public Partnerships, Public Procurement, International Procurement, Energy Law, Public Finance, Public Policy, Competition Law, Arbitrations, both national and International, among others. She also has a robust skill set that includes legal advice, legal writing, contract drafting, legal research, negotiating contracts and financing, legal due diligence, legal audits among others.
She is proficient in serving in public service having undertaken the Senior Management Course (SMC) and Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) at the Kenya School of Government. Further, she has served in various capacities in senior positions in Government for over ten (10) years.
She holds a Postgraduate diploma in Law (Advocates Training Program), Kenya School of Law, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and LLM in International Trade and Commercial Law from the University of Essex, UK.
FCS Joshua W. Wambua MBS
Representing the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ICS)
FCS Joshua W. Wambua was appointed a member of the Board of kasneb effective 13 December 2024. He is a Certified Secretary and a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya. He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree with a major in Finance from the University of Nairobi and a degree in Business Administration in Finance.
He has served as a County Executive committee member in Makueni and also as County Secretary. He has also served and continues to serve in a number of Board of Management of several schools.
In 2012, he was awarded the Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS) by the President of Kenya for his outstanding contribution to Nation building.
He has worked with Kenya Posts & Telecommunication, lectured at Multimedia University and is an examiner at kasneb. He was party to the conceptualization of the framework that led to the formation of the International Federation of Company Secretaries (IFCS) in Delhi-India and served as a member of IFCS for five years.
He served as the Secretary and the Chief Executive of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya for a period of thirteen years and also served as a Board member of the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board. He also served as the Honorary Secretary of the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA).
CS Judy W. Omurwa
Representing the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ICS)
CS Judy Olive Warui was appointed as a member of the Board of kasneb effective 13 December 2024. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries, an experienced Corporate Secretary, accredited governance auditor and Corporate Governance consultant. She has worked as an in-house corporate secretary where she advised the Board and Management on governance matters, risk and compliance, and adopted best Corporate Governance practices and procedures.
Currently, she is an independent legal and corporate governance consultant, trainer/facilitator, corporate secretary and Board Member. She has led and participated in governance and legal audits for various state corporations and publicly listed companies and provides various corporate secretarial, legal, regulatory, and compliance services.
CS Judy has been involved in drafting Corporate Governance guidelines and Codes of Conduct, subsidiary legislation, board and board committee charters, policies, and guidelines for entities in diverse sectors. She has also facilitated several seminars and workshops in the areas of Corporate Governance, minute writing, meetings, board processes, and procedures.
She is a Member of the Board of Safaricom Investment Cooperative Limited (SIC) and chairs the Historic and Problematic Lands Board Committee.
CS Judy is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. She holds a Law degree from the University of Nairobi, a postgraduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from United States International University – Africa.
Ms. Samantha S. Kipury
Representing KASNEB Board
Ms. Samantha S. Kipury was appointed as a member of the Board of kasneb effective from 13 December 2024. She is the Founder and Group Head of Strategy & Media at Dentsu Kenya where she dedicated over 14 years to overseeing the strategic development and implementation of the business. Her leadership has propelled the company to achieve significant growth, expanding agency services and establishing Dentsu Kenya as a regional hub for multiple clients.
With a track record of guiding businesses through pivotal transformations and ensuring seamless client interactions, she has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Kenya by Africapitol Ventures in 2024, Future is Female Award by Adweek US (2023) In Johannesburg, South Africa among others.
Passionate about education, she has mentored and financially supported young women from the Maa community, advocating for their educational success. She is a graduate from Monash University and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from Catholic University, and a Corporate Governance Course with Women on Boards.

Prof. Nicholas K. Letting’, PhD, EBS, HSC, is a renowned corporate governance and strategic leadership and management professional with over 26 years of experience in public and private sectors. He serves as the Secretary/CEO of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board – KASNEB and has held key leadership roles in the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya, including being Vice-Chancellor of the Management University of Africa (MUA).
He is the current Chairman, Association of Professional Societies of East Africa (APSEA). FCPA Dr Isaac M. Njuguna PhD
Director, Corporate Services
FCPA Dr Isaac M. Njuguna is the Director, Corporate Services at kasneb, a position he has held since 2022. FCPA Dr Njuguna also serves on the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB) of IFAC as a Board member representing Kenya and the East Africa region. In addition, he serves on the Technical committee of the East Africa Community Institutes of Accountants (EACIA). Previously, he served as a member of the Registration and Quality Assurance Committee and the Training and Development Committee of ICPAK for which he was awarded a commendation. FCPA Njuguna is also a member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
FCPA Njuguna has wide exposure on global practices in professional accounting education and practice gained through his service at the IAESB in addition to benchmarking and peer review visits to institutes within the East Africa region, South Africa, United Kingdom, USA, Australia, Indonesia, Mexico among others.
FCPA Njuguna holds a Masters degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi in addition to a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) degree from the same university. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.
CPA Jason K. Mwangi
Deputy Director, Internal Audit and Assurance
CPA Jason has over fifteen years of experience in audit and assurance, gained from both the private and public sectors. He is currently the Head of Internal Audit and Assurance Division at kasneb and previously held a similar role at the Women Enterprise Fund. He also served as the Country Head of Audit and Control at United Bank for Africa, where he played a key role in establishing the bank in Kenya.
He holds a Masters Degree in Strategic Management from IOTA-Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting option) from Kenyatta University. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Information Systems Auditor, and a Certified Professional in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). He is also an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA), where he has served as a member of the Audit Committee.

Caroline has over 15 years’ strategic management experience having served in different senior strategic management, corporate planning, governance and consulting positions in Swaziland, Australia and Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Moi University and Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.
Caroline is a Chartered Secretary/governance professional and member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA). She holds a post-graduate diploma in marketing and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), a diploma in quality management and is a practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI). She also holds a Post-graduate diploma in Project Planning and Management from Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

Hamida A. Mwilu
Deputy Director, Business Development
Hamida A. Mwilu is the Head of the Business Development Division at kasneb, where she provides strategic leadership across Business Development, Customer Experience, Brand Management, Marketing, Corporate Communication and Research and Innovation. She is widely recognised as a transformational and “out-of-the-box” leader, distinguished by her strong customer centric approach and her ability to design and execute high-impact marketing and communication strategies.
A Chartered Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications professional, Hamida blends strategic insight with commercial acumen to identify, develop, and grow new market opportunities. Her leadership is anchored in vision, innovation, and results, supported by deep expertise in strategic planning, project management, and business development. Her core competencies include Marketing Management, Corporate Communication, Stakeholder Engagement, Brand Management, Strategic Management, Project Management, Change Management, Customer Relationship Management, and People Leadership.
Hamida joined kasneb in August 2013 and has played a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation’s brand, market presence, and stakeholder relationships. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Management from Edith Cowan University, a Professional Diploma in Marketing (High Level) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Kenyatta University. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), and the Institute of Customer Experience (ICX) Kenya.
CPA Sailot Keke
Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts
CPA Sailot Keke has over 15 years of experience in Finance and Auditing across both the public and private sectors.
She currently serves as the Deputy Director, Finance, having previously worked as Manager, Internal Audit at kasneb for more than seven years. Prior to joining kasneb, she served as an Information Systems Auditor at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and earlier as a Regional Auditor with the NGCDF Board.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) and a Master of Business Administration (Finance). She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Secretary (CS).
CPA Keke is an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), where she has served as Audit Committee Chair. She is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK), where she contributes to the Training and Development Committee and has previously served on the Audit Committee.

Joseph Kariga serves as the Deputy Director, Examinations Administration at kasneb, overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all national and international examinations administered by the board.
CS Joyce M. Afanda
Assistant Director, Legal Services
CS Joyce M. Afanda is the Assistant Director, Legal Services at kasneb where she also doubles up as the Data Protection Officer. She is a Commissioner for Oaths, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Governance, Ethics, Risk and Compliance Expert. She is also a Certified Public Secretary and Certified Public Accountant.
CS Joyce holds a Masters of Laws (LLM) degree in International Trade Law (Distinction) from the University of Aberdeen and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management from Kenyatta University, in addition she also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and a post Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
As a trained mediator and negotiator, CS Joyce firmly believes in alternative dispute resolution as opposed to the use of litigation. She is also passionate about Governance and Compliance.
The key responsibilities are management of Board and Committee meetings, Advising on all Legal and Compliance matters, contract negotiation and management, Data Protection and governance audit and related issues.

Jostine N. Masinde serves as the Assistant Director, Administration at kasneb, overseeing human resources, facilities management, administrative operations, and organizational support services.
Daniel N. Ngunyi
Assistant Director, Accreditation
Daniel N. Ngunyi is the Assistant Director, Accreditation at kasneb, responsible for managing the accreditation process for training institutions, ensuring quality standards in accounting and secretarial education, and maintaining partnerships with accredited learning centers.
CPA Jacinta Moraa
Manager, KASNEB Foundation
CPA Jacinta Moraa currently serves as the Manager of the KASNEB Foundation. She oversees the Foundation’s day-to-day operations, which include implementing the loans and bursaries programme for needy students pursuing kasneb qualifications, mentorship and coaching for beneficiaries, resource mobilization, corporate social investment initiatives, strategic planning, and building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
Before joining the KASNEB Foundation, Jacinta served as the Finance and Accounts Officer at the National Council for Law Reporting (NCLR) for 10 years, and earlier as an Accountant and Credit Officer at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
She holds an MBA in Project Management and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Banking). She is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a member of both the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK).
Jacinta is also a trained ISO 9001:2015 Implementation Champion, a certified Trainer of Trainers, and a former Trustee of the NCLR Pension Scheme.
